TyTN V1605 owners with screen problems-What ROM do you have?

For those with the screen alignment problems, what ROM version do you have? And if vodafone sent you a replacement, does it have the same or updated ROM?

Mine has the screen alignment problem and the ROM version is:
ROM version: 1.20.161.3
ROM Date: 06/06/06
Radio Version: 1.03.06.00
Protocol version: 32.34.7010.01W


This is to see if vodafone has released an updated ROM which fixes the screen problem or it is in fact a hardware issue..

screen alignment problems ? had mine for two days with exactly the same versions as you, maybe i'm not trying hard enough ?... what should I be looking for ?

Basically, the screen looses alignment with the stylus intermittently requiring a re-alignment. This may be a hardware or software problem.

Try the following procedure, it might help :lol:

Start > Settings > Connections > USB to PC

Uncheck the box

Align the screen and then softreset.

I have exactly the same hardware / firmware and have not yet (took delivery on 10 July) had this problem.

The only issue I have is the device starting up in Landscape after you've taken it out of the magnetic case.

I've had the phone for a week with no problems and it has now just started drifting. I'm having to realign many times (5+) a day. Very frustrating!

Spoke to Vodafone who have no software updates and they recommend replacing the phone.

I think it is a hardware problem as on my first 2 v1605's when I looked at the screen when it was off I could see my face at the top and a second time at the bottom of the screen. On my third and at the moment perfect one there is only one pefect reflection. Keyboard is also perfect on this one and it runs faster and seems more stable generally. Keyboard aslo clicks into place much more positively in and out. All have had exactly the same software versions as above and loaded software was the same as they were restored from backups. Even A2DP works properly on this one. Seems to me that there may be a few dodgy ones floating about.

For me it is now the perfect device!

Hi qyach, This seemed to have fixed the problem on my phone. I've not had to realign the phone for a day now. Nonetheless, i've asked vodafone to send me a replacement. Maybe other peeps can try this fix.

Lastnight I had this issue several times in the space of a couple of hours. Today the device has been perfect all day!

My ROM info is as follows:

I'm currently running a totally clean version since last night (usb to pc box still checked) and I haven't run into any problems as of yet.

Edit: Screen just lost alignment again, few mm to the left, as usual. I'll realign it and uncheck the usb to pc box and see if that helps.
