Call Drop Problems Anyone Else?

My CHT 9000 on ENG ROM seems to run alright but I have a serious issue:

CALL DROPS happen frequently, sometimes it is perfectly ok and my friends says the calls are clearer than my ATOM Exec. But sometimes the calls get dropped (disconnected or no voice) after 6-10 seconds of the call and would keep on doing that.

Does this happen to anyone? This problem is present on the original rom and the english rom.

Are u using Huthison 3G, if yes, u will face this problem when u are in 3G mode. U can chang in GSM mode or use the other service provider to get rid of this problem.

omg how did you find out about this? Yes I am using Hutchison 3! How do I manually force the phone back to GSM mode? thanks!

Does other 3G Service providers have this problem as well?

I am using PCCW 3G networks without CALL DROPS PROBLEM :lol:

I have two sim card, one of them is 3G Smartone-Vodafone, and another one is 2G Sunday. The Smartone-Vodafone on has call dropped problem in 3G mode, both of them work perfectly in 2G mode.

exec dropping calls!!!

I've had an xda, xda2, xda2i and xda exec and I am convinced that HTC have lost the plot with the exec! The exec is the worst phone ever made. I lost sound and was constantly dropping calls. I was one step away from throwing the exec against the wall! I went into the O2 shop and demanded a replacement phone. They were reluctant to swop it for a new exec, as this has been a common problem with thse phones. An exec comes with all the bells and whistles, but if it can't operate as a simple mobile phone, what's the point! I was even willing to swop it for a xda mini s and I did exactly that! The mini s was a bit of a down-grade, but it has been the best move ever. It does what it says on the tin and fits in the palm of my hand, O, and it works 100% as a mobile phone!

OK, the processor is a bit slow on the mini s, but it's a small price to pay :)

to remove it off 3G go to settings / phone / band - then select GSM from the top drop down menu.

Should now reset.

If it comes up with an error, turn on flight mode then do the above again.

Works a lot better but the phone still cannot receive text messages for voicemail alerts on the vodafone network...grrr

Had similar problem with calls being dropped or even unable to dial when on 3G. Incidentaly found that changing to GSM mode led to perfect call quality and 100% signal. Suppose all comes from unstable 3G network because device behaves much better in 3G in places I know are with perfect 3G covergae.

This is a problem of poor 3G coverage causing phone to drop calls when swapping from 2g to 3G. Would have worked fine if you'd set it to GSM only.

That surely occurs due to the low stability of the Bulgarian 3G networks, which are in a quite early state of roll-out and are equipped with Huawei's low cost/quality infrastructure.

In Germany dropped calls were a big issue for a long time, too, and E-Plus still has a huge call loss rate. A friend of mine misses 90% of incoming calls, when he's on the E-Plus 3G network, allthough he has full reception, tried severeal 3G devices and let the operator swap him to another HLR. However outgoing calls/data/SMS works smooth.

I guess you have already updated your Radio ROM?

Знаеш ли дали М-тел и Глобул пускат предплатените карти в 3G-мрежите си? А трябва ли да се ползва спецялна USIM-карта или става с старите SIM-карти?
