Switching rom after imei check unlocking SPV M3100
Just unlocked my Orange SPV M3100 using imei check. I remember that there was a warning that the unlocker would not work if the radio version was later than 1.06
Anyway now that I've unlocked it I want to try out some of the other roms out there which I have later radio version 1.07.
Need to know if the newer roms would work with my phone before going ahead. Thanks

Yes they do - my Orange M3100 (unlocked by imeicheck) is running the i-mate JasJam ROM, with a T-Mobile SIM.
EDIT: I forgot to add - the unlock seems also to have removed the CID check, so that upgrading the ROM was really simple (didn't have to run the upgrade twice as others have reported).

Thanks for the reply. How do you find the JasJam rom by the way? I'm looking at that one or maybe the Dopod rom.

It does seem quicker. More importantly, I find that it's holding onto UMTS signals much longer, and almost never reverting down to GPRS. I'm sure the Dopod ROM with the same radio version would be the same in this regard.

So, i guess this means that do you have a SuperCID after runing their unlocker, right?
Can you post the output you get from the bootloader when issuing these commands?
Code:
info 2
info 4
info 7
info 8
Info on how to do it is here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...mes_BootLoader
Let me know if you neet any asistance.
Thanks!

mmm... doesn't seem to be SuperCID, probably is just CID Unlocked ¿?
btw, the imei check people packed their unlocker with Themida, and protected it from debuggers:
Quote:
|
"Running debugger in system. In order to execute this program you have to quit the debugger first."
|
And it gives a communication error if you try to monitor the USB port when running it.
So, still don't know what the unlocker really does :?

I just bought a Dutch T-Mobile MDA Vario II which is sim locked. I will not pay for unlocking it, but if I can do something else to help out please let me know :).
