Just recently, I dropped the top half of my phone in soup and now my GPS won't lock on to any satellites at all. I've tried using a gps.conf and TopNTP and both don't work at all. I've also tried taking the backplate off and screwing it back on, but that doesn't work.

Did dropping the phone probably affect the antenna on the backplate of the phone? If so, will a simple replacement backplate from eBay fix it?

You can try to take the backplate off and wiping down everything with rubbing alcohol
