Hi, I'm looking for someone to please explain how I can enable daydream through pressing the sleep button and without being on charge. (I presume tasker will be the way to do this)

I love the feature but I only ever charge it before I go to bed making it pointless!

You can do it with some apps, like Daydream Launcher

You can automate it with Tasker and either Daydream Launcher Plus or Secure settings

If you are rooted, a shell command can be used to switch to Desk Dock mode and thus launch Daydream id configured:

- turn it on: am broadcast -a android.intent.action.DOCK_EVENT --ei android.intent.extra.DOCK_STATE 1
- turn it off: am broadcast -a android.intent.action.DOCK_EVENT --ei android.intent.extra.DOCK_STATE 0
