Problem updating SoftBank X01HT to latest Cingular ROM

I am trying to update to RUU_HER_Cingular_1.34.502.1_1.16.00.00_wwe (to get the unit to English) but no matter how many times I try to rerun the flash utility, it always comes back with INVALID VENDOR.

Anybody can help with that?

Which bootloader version do you have? If you have 1.06 you need a rom matching your CID with bootloader 1.04 to be able to flash any rom without the invalid vender id.

That seems to be exactly the problem. SoftBank Japan ships the phone originally with Bootloader 1.06 (I thick I have one of the first commercially available here) and there is no 1.04 ROM with the same CID. Basically I think that means that we're stuck here in Japan with the SoftBank incarnation of the TyTN unless somebody comes up with a way to... umhh... bypass the CID check...
