Unhappy phone function inactive

Hi, I am using a WM5 based T-mobile Compact III. it was prefectly functional for the first 3 weeks. Suddently neither the phone button(the green button for answering a call) nor the contacts book function works. After rebooting and powercycle the device many times. it still gives no response, apart from turning the backlight on (i.e. the hardware seems still in good shape). I would suspect it is something wrong with launching (or linking to) the relevant programs for these functions, but I couldn't find the answer to the problem. anyone has the similar experience before? or anyone can help??

Make one more try. Set the phone to fly modus. Make soft reset.
an then turn fly modus off.

you can still browse the contacts or access to the phone function (with a note "phone off" on the top) in the fly mode. My problem is the phone function is nowhere to find at all.... thinking might be a problem somewhere in the registry...

If you suspect the registry what have you been doing with the device? I would sugest a full hard reset and return the device to the out of the box situation, Page 90 of the manual explains how to do this. As a direct result you will loose all software and settings, the device will be returned to the same state it was in when you removed the unit from the box, if the phone still doesn't work take it back - Mike

I have done nothing suspicious, i.e. any attempt to the registry, apart from applying a network unlock to the phone 2 weeks before it came to this problem. As you suggested, a hard reset seems to be the only solution now... thanks for your reply anyway
