Default Poor call quality on Orbit

Is everyone happy with the audio quality when making a call?! This is my first XDA phone and have been really surprised at the call quality compared to my old Sony W800i.. it sometimes feels a bit like I am holding a shell up to my ear!

Overall, even on the lowest volume it is still too loud for me, and the tone has too much treble in it for my taste. So does anybody know if:

1. There is a reg key that I can adjust to bring the overall call volume down?
2. If there are any programs that i can get hold of to adjust the tone of the audio when on a call?

Apart from that the Orbit is exactly what I wanted, just a shame at the moment I don't want to make many calls on it!

Many thanks,

Tom.

Mine was exactly the same as yours. I think you described it perfectly, it's like holding a shell to your ear. In fact there were times, I made a call, and didn't even bother holding it to my ear and I could still hear the person on the other end.

I don't have the Orbit anymore, got the Trinity instead, and I think call quality on the Trinity is much better.

You can try swapping it for another one, as you have 28 days. Maybe both of us were unlucky.

I don't think you can adjust the sound qaulity for the call. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Have already tried swapping for another one.. o2 were very reasonable about it however, the new one is not much different (although it does seem quicker than the first for some strange reason!).

Its really annoying, walking down the street and making a call is very difficult.. its almost as if the gain on the mic is too high and is some how feeding back into the earpiece.. which is compounded by the volume being too high and the tone not being great.

Its good to know I am not the only one having this problem however!

I would realy like to find (or develop) a fix for this as in all other respects this is the perfect phone for me!
