Default Artemis/MDAC3 GPS battery run times

Hi.

Just for info I ran my MDAC3 on Tom Tom from a full charge and it lasted four and half hours. About the 4 hours 10 mark I got my first battery reminder, dimissed this and kept it running. I got one more reminder where it ran for a few minutes before switching off.

I run Tom Tom overclocked to 252 so this run time may be longer if you keep the processor running as standard.

My MDAC3 is recharging now and I will try a Memory Map run time later on. This will be at normal processor speed and with the backlight set to go off after 5 minutes.

Regards

Hi,

Did a test using Memory Map today with backlight set to go off after 4 minutes. Also included hourly turn on of screen. Processor was running at normal speed. GPRS was also on downloading mail every hour and updating my weather program every two hours.

Run time was 7 hours 50 minutes which is pretty good. I know not quite as long as purpose built GPS but long enough for most days out in the wilds.

Not sure how much extra an extended battery would give you. Anybody know?

Regards
