White and more accurate battery indicator
In Windows Mobile 5 since AKU 2.0 and Windows Mobile 6 (Professional/Classic) the battery icon (or the clock) in the title bar on the today screen can be replaced. The default battery shows five different states and was sometimes colored green by some operators. My versions will show ten different charge levels and come in two styles: bars and solid.
UPDATE (2009-01-18): WM6.5 Beta Battery
-- Icons are based on the indicator of a WM6.5 beta ROM
UPDATE (2009-10-29): WM6.5 VGA Solid
The wm65*.cab files are for Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional/Classic only. They do not work on earlier versions or WM Standard.
Get them from this post: WM6.5 VGA & WM6 VGA Icons
Soft-reset after installation.
Example and charge levels
Please note, that the same DLL which holds the battery icons also holds the icons for the speed dial and call history lists in the phone application. To get an idea what the different CABs will change, refer to these two tables:

I have to thank and give credit to Jimm98y. From his posts in this thread I learned which file I needed to change:
The attached CAB files will replace the file that holds the icons. You have to decide which style you like more (bars or solid) and pick the file that fits the resolution of your device (QVGA 240x320 or VGA 480x640). All CABs work on WM6 but do not install the wm6*.cab files on WM5!
The wm6bat_*_vga.cab files are in post #29
. Soft-reset after installation.
