Default Skype On 8525

Have been searching but couldn't find an answer that worked for me.

I want to use Skype on my 8525, it'd be nice if I could use my headset but that's not required. I usually get EDGE sometimes 3G and haven't the clue how to properly set-up WiFi. With both EDGE and 3G it gets to the point where I can call somebody and then when it connects it says Connect to ____ 00:01 seconds, and then shuts down the program. Any help is much appreciated

When I said Connect To ______: 00:01 I meant Connected To < CONTACT NAME > for 1 second. It did the same thing with the voice test for skype. Called, then shut down as soon as it picked up.

On my TyTN, the wifi connection is closed after 30s. I'm guessing it is the VPN (which I need) that isn't kept alive somehow.

Perhaps your dataconnection is too slow for Skype?

Possibly, but I thought 3G would be good enough to run Skype as I've heard success stories

Default Works for me

I just installed it last night and made a couple of test connects to my son in the other room. I was able to connect with wifi and GPRS. GPRS was better quality than wifi, but they both worked. Echo cancellation helped audio quality. This was using the beta version of WMskype.

It worked on GPRS? As in EDGE? Woah... did you take any extra steps to set it up? I'd really like to get mine working.

Skype works on 3G. It DOES NOT work on EDGE or GPRS.

If you want Skype to work with both 3G and WiFi, you probably need to have a data plan that does not require the use of a proxy server.

I use the PDA Unlimited Data plan, and with 3G it still shuts down the program when I get into a call, what can be wrong?

I got it working.

Solution:

Remove DNS Proxies ( if using DNS fix )
Un-install Skype
Download Skype Windows Mobile For HTC
Install on Mobile Device
Run when you have 3G, it didn't drop for me.

I am so happy

My final question, how can I configure my Voyager Bluetooth Headset to work with Skype?

Thanks for the replies.

I use skype with EDGE a lot. The quality isn't pristine, but it's quite usable
