Question Bluetooth DUN / PAN malachie...

Hi there!

I just got my MTeOR yesterday and was of course eager to upgrade to RUU_BREE100_1.32.251.1_1.29.00.10_HTC, but now i sorely miss the Bluetooth DUN profile and wonder whether a downgrade to RUU_BREE100_1.30.251.1_1.16.00.10_HTCEUR_Ship will bring it back?
Also does a downgrade work without any problems, i saw some "stuck in bootloader" e-mails here?

Do you have any idea which version was Pre-AKU3 and therefore still features the Bluetooth DUN profile?

It's pretty annoying having a Loox N560 with WM 5.0 PocketPC that cannot connect to a UMTS capable MTeOR which runs WM 5.0 Smartphone. How stupid is that?!

I mainly did the update to get HSDPA, but as i cannot even connect to the phone now... So i'd rather stay with a version without HSDPA that i can connect to, than using one that has HSDPA, but i can't connect to.
Pretty obvious or?!

Of course a tool for WM5.0 PocketPC which adds the Bluetooth PAN profile would also help, but i don't think there is such a thing

Thanks for your help!

Regards,
Tobias

Hi!

Have a look on this
http://www.firstloox.org/forums/showthread.php?t=6561

With this Widcomm Stack the PAN Profile wil be there on your N560.

Itīs ridiculous, that devices using code from Microsoft are most incompatible to Microsoft devices.

Thanks ElJogi!

The WidComm Stack is really ways better. Unfortunately i seem to have lost the Obex File Transfer capability now on the N560. At least it does no longer show up in the TotalComander context menu. So no incoming and outgoing files, but Bluetooth PAN support, well that's better than before i guess.

Thanks,
Tobias

Can you verify that you got HSDPA to work with this ROM version?

Good question pkg40. All i can say for the moment is, that there is a shortcut called SetHSDPA_Enable in the Windows\Start Up folder, which sounds promising.

However there is no HSDPA icon or something shown in the menu bar as far as i can see (also now different icon for GPRS or EDGE). So the only way to test that would be to download a big file with some data throughput measureing tool.

If such a test shows a too low data throughput for HSDPA there is still the question whether this is caused by non HSDPA support or due to some other bottleneck or processing problems in the phone.

Most reliable thing to do would be to connect it to some HSDPA capable network tester. Probably we have such a thing at my workplace, so if i can get hold of one i will give it a try.

Cheers,
Tobias
