Default Video CAll for XDA Live in future?

Will there be a chance that we will be getting video call for upcoming version of XDA Live?

Are there difficulty of integrating the function into the ROM?

the XDA Live V0.10 is great and really look forward for V0.20...0.30....

Thank you all for your efforts

I have NO DOUBT that video call will be integrated.....but for now (we are only just about to see version 0.2 remember ) the only way to get video calling on XDA-Live is by reading the thread and installing the appropriate cabs. I did install it and it worked ok but the skin didnt match the rest of XDA-Live so i removed it.

Patience sir the video call option will be available when the time is right.

Not sure what you mean, but when you run the installer for the new version it will be exactly like a hard reset......the BEST thing you can ever do is get an activesync account with someone like Mail2Web so all your emails, contacts, tasks and calendar appointments are literally saved ALL THE TIME, then make sure all the files you want to keep are either backed up on your SD card or on the pc. when you hard reset its literally then a case of restoring your GPRS/MMS/activesync settings, reinstalling your programs and restoring your files.
Ive managed a hard-reset and restore in the space of ten minutes.

EDIT:: you dont NEED to have the device syncing over GPRS, it will sync with the online account through activesync on your pc if you wish. but syncing over gprs gives you the added bonus of push email

Neither Video calling nor PTT will be integrated into the ROM, reason being that these apps only have regional popularity (Video not available in N. America, PTT not available in Europe)... No need to clutter the base ROM and reduce the size of program area for apps that half of us would never use.

The solution is this: These two apps will be part of the add-on "toolkit" for XDA Live.

ROM: rooted/deodexed 4.1.1 (JRO03O)
Kernel: Franco Dailies: r295
Baseband: FF02/FG02

I have applied the patch which makes the video function to work. Was just wondering if we will actually placed the WM6 version in XDA Live!

Anyway, the ROM is great, itz fast and very steady. My softbank has not hanged once since I upgraded.

Cheers!

hi guys,

i got video call working with one a couple of the cabs available in the 1.35 ext rom (as posted above) then skinned the dialer with the 3G iphone dialpad.

Works a treat.

Also, the 3g/U/E/G icons are fixed as well with the 1.35ext rom cabs as above.
