SIM Unlock by Carrier

Hi everyone

I was just wondering, If I ask Orange to unlock my SPV M700 themselves (I know they'll charge me £20 to do so), but am I right in thinking that:

1. My warranty is not going to be affected - since they unlocked it
2. The ROM will remain Orange's own ROM which is GPS enabled

I may be wrong but I am sure one of you guys will correct me if I am
