Default [new release] WM6 ROM Kitchen for Hermes [ GER | WWE | JPN | CHT ]

This is a ready to use ROM Kitchen to create a German WM6 ROM for the Hermes device.

Download:
DEV_HERMES_[ GER | WWE | JPN | CHT ]_WM6.rar (Thanks for the Universal roms by DarkForce Team, great translations!)

1. Extract the DEV_HERMES_GER_WM6 folder

2. Add all OEM packages you need to the OEM folder
e.g. Operator OEM packages:
OEM_GER_O2.rar
OEM_GER_VODA.rar
OEM_[ GER | WWE ]_TMO.rar
OEM_UK_ORANGE.rar
OEM_WWE_CWS.rar
OEM_JPN_SB.rar (The device should be SoftBank compatible after adding this package, pls someone try and tell me the result)
OEM_CHT_chunghwa.rar

there is a folder inside this packages called OEMOPERATORS, extract one of the packages to DEV_HERMES_GER_WM6\OEM\ to add the operator settings
the result should be this path: DEV_HERMES_GER_WM6\OEM\OEMOPERATORS

3. Run BuildOS.exe

Select the optional packages you would like to include to the ROM and start the build using the green button

4. Run CreateROM.bat
it is important that you see "Checked ... sectors successfully!":

DONE!
Your new ROM is called os-new.nb inside DEV_HERMES_GER_WM6\temp

I will extend this guide... But I don’t have the time yet

BIG thanks to mamaich (IMGFS tools), tadzio (modifying the IMGFS tools for Hermes and other support)!

[20.03.2007 18:20] Updated: DEV_HERMES_WWE_WM6.rar fix for WindowsLive dose not connect

Yes, you just have to replace SYS and OEM... Notice that the tools inside .\TOOLS\ and the CreateROM.bat are special Hermes things

NBMerge 2.0 RC 2
Checking os-new.nb for bad NAND block marker
Checked 0x1ef00 sectors successfully!
Done.
Drücken Sie eine beliebige Taste . . .

Instead of 0x1e500 i get 0x1ef00

The number changes with the size of the ROM, which in turn changes with the packages you select/deselect. The important part to watch out for the the word "successfully". :-)

Very nice work, bepe!

Cheers

Sorry for another noob question... When I get it right, I can only chose OEM packages and optional packages. Does that mean that there is a "base ROM" that is always the same so I can't chose another one than the included base ROM? If so, what base ROM is it? WMXL, ...?!?

Sorry once more if this is a stupid question, but I'm really trying to get into all that ROM cooking thingy...

cheers,
Michael
