Cheers.

I 'am not able to install the USB driver. The systems is always saying that i have the updated driver. If i de-install, as suggested bu some of you, them i cannot see the mobile device in the manage device screen, even after a list refresh (of course if no driver existe...it is not recognize).

So i don't know what to do. Iam stuck in the bootloader and when I run the UNI_ExitBootloader it says to make usre the USB check if deactivate (it is) and that it is connected to a USB (it is).

I'am returning to a XP to flash it...

Default Tried all i can and still need HELP!

Im trying to finally update WM5 to WM6.
I used the following file from Qtek site 359682-bl1.01_ruu_uni_v1.2.
It asked to restart and i did but then after which the Qtek9000 would show dark screen with 'serial' v.1.00 and with usb cable connected would show USB v.1.00.
the next step when trying to install the following
2007161010BL10_RUU_UNI_V11
I still get error 101.

In trying your way device manager say driver is already the best installed.
With USB cable attached i tried the power+light+reset and tried the UNI_ExitBootloader and got the error 'cannot open USB port.........."
i made sure activesyn is disabled and tried various ways to do these steps and still no luck!
reinstalled window mobile device and tried again.
What am i doing wrong?
thanks for your advise.

Qtek 9000

Donwload the files from this link: http://rapidshare.com/files/38401715...files.rar.html
and extract them in a new created folder like for example your desktop. Extract the USB Modem Vista in a different folder on your desktop (easy to find)

- put your device in bootloader mode (press and hold power, light and softreset button)
- connect the MDA to your computer.
- open computer management (devicemanager) in vista, rightclick computer in startmenu and select manage (see step 1)
- in computermanager open devicemanager (step 2)
- follow step 3 and 4.

After step 4 browse to the folder where you extracted the USB Modem Vista and choose next.
It will install the active sync drivers to vista and you will be able to flash.

I attached a exit bootloader file to exit bootloader mode (you can also install drivers without flashing the device)
YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO EXIT BOOTLOADER MODE!!!! EVEN BEVORE FLASHING!!!!

If you do it properly it will be done in less than 4 minutes.

Good luck.

Default for the folks who cant install the driver from the zip

At step 4 if you are getting the message that says best driver already installed, choose "Let me pick from a list of drivers", On the next dialog click "Have Disk" and then browse to the folder that has the unzipped driver. This should get vista to pick it up and install it.

Worked for me.

Thanks duanes.

Great work Duanes! My XV6600 got stuck in bootloader mode during a failed rom update for daylight savings time in the US. Your exitbooloader application and vista drivers did the trick.

The only thing is that I didn't know how to manually update the drivers. I needed to do these steps in order for it to work

- Browse your computer
- Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer
- Unclick show compatiable hardware
- Click Have disk
- Choose the driver wherever you downloaded the file.

I think that's why some of the people were sayint that the USB could not be found when they ran the exitbooloader application.

Thanks a lot though!
