Question Overclocked Herald vs Regular Hermes

I am thinking about upgrading to a Herald (T-Mobile Wing). I have read that people do not like the wing because it has the same processor as the MDA. My other option is to goto Cingular and get the Hermes (8525).

If i get the Herald i am going to overclock it.

So how does the overclocked Herald compare to the Hermes.

I understand that the Hermes is bigger, and it will be running a 400 mhz proc. Where as the Herald overclock will be somewhere around 270 mhz. In everyday, day to day usage will the extra power really be noticed.

Is the overclocked Herald really that slow when changing from portrait to landscape? How is the Hermes when changing from portrait to landscape?

What are some other pros and cons when comparing the two?

The Herald (wing) is nicely small, and it toggles from landscape to portrait and vice versa in a second. When you overclock the device, it will use extra battery, and yes this is noticable. overclocking to 263 mhz i believe works perfectly, no lacking of speed etc..

273 works fine. don't get a wing - seems to have some kind of strange hardware failures as well as memory failures. try to get an unbranded htc4350 instead.

I also have original HTC P4350 and it's the most stable phone I ever had and it's still a PDA! I have 5.4.405 firmware preinstalled and I can run nonstop with no single freeze. This is something impossible for Symbian P910 I had before. That crappy phone made me hard-reset it 10 times a day!
