Stops syncing randomly in Vista

For some reason my 8525 stops syncing with my laptop randomly. My laptop runs Vista. The weird thing is I sync with my desktop that runs XP with the same cable and it never disconnects. I've tried enabling and disabling the advanced usb connection settings and it still does the same thing on my laptop. Any idea what could be causing this?

mobile device center is an asshole
don't do anything to your PDA
try any/all/some of the following;
-soft reset PDA
-restart PC
-use a different USB port
-reconnect
-re-install mobile device center

i've had this problem on several occasions most recently yesterday, its annoying but relatively easily solved
