Default Installing to SD

Hi Peeps,

Its been a while since i've been in the PDA scene... the TyTN II tempted me back.

Took delivery of my SanDisk SDHC 4Gb card this morning, plugged in and working a-okay.

Now, I'm wanting to install all my apps now. The installer greys out the option to choose your own install location?! Wanting to keep system memory to the max you see...

Anyone know how i get around this?

Cheers,

Matt

i am having similar problem but my sd install is not greyed out but there is a problem with programs that have to write to the SD card.
I installed 2 programs that I have installed on a WM 6 ROM on my 8525 - these programs have to sync data and the data is written to a folder where the program is installed. If I install the program on the main memory of the TyTN II then it works just fine but if install it to the SD card it will not work - it locks up when trying to write data on the SD card of the TyTN II.

Any ideas on how to change security or access to the SD card so the device has full access to it????

It looks serious problem

However, it could be that the application is not yet compatible with the Tytn II ?

I think it is worth to ask to the developer of the application, he might have a clue or could create somekind of debug tool to verify.

I have not installed anything to the SD though.

Try this, will you?
I've found this app on another forum, but couldn't try it yet since i still am waiting for the arrival of my sdhc card.

Also, try these too.

I tried the different SD drivers and the TyTNN II was not able to access the SD card at all until I uninstalled the driver.
Interestingly the problem is only when the applications try to write to the card while doing a "sync" process where the app writes updated data to the SD card. The program otherewise works fine and installs fine.

Btw , it is only a 2GB card. I tried reformatting it and using a different card but no luck.

I think the issue is some sort os a security thing where the OS is errantly preventing writing to the SD card within the application.

Any other suggestions? I'm going to notify the place where I bought the Kaiser but also going to try to contact HTC.

I contacted HTC and they said that the device hadn't "really been released" yet and that with third party software they would not be of any help !!!!!!!!!

Can't believe they were so unhelpful. I even explained that others were having some other issues with SD cards and that it was more than one progeam giving me problems.

His answer was to - "just install your programs in the main memory"
