definitely, i had TyTN before and 2 other wm5 phones before, kaiser is by far the best so far. the feeling is that i can finally rely on this phone without worrying that i have to hard reset it all the time, or install patches or fixes all the time and try to find solutions for problems that i bought with the phone. eg. the BT voice call button works out of the box. voice recorder is already in wm6, no need third party softwares. and in general wm6 seems to have a more steady and speedier improvement. i m liking my kaiser more everyday.

DONATE TO ME
Thumbs up Buy it!

I had the TyTN over a year so far. Friday I got my Kaiser. I'm soooooooo excited. If you compare both phones, suddenly the TyTN looks pretty cheap. The Kaiser is made of better materials, the keyboard is much better, it lays better in your hand, the applications start fast, GPS needs appr. 20 seconds to get a connection, double space for RAM and ROM, so it is worth every cent.

So if had to decide I would like eat cup noddles over the whole next year!

I was wondering about it myself. My K-Jam just died, so waiting on insurance to come through to get myself a TyTN II/ Kaiser.

Here's an alternative view.

No, it's not worth the money it costs to upgrade (let's say £300 after selling your TyTN). It is basically the same phone (thickness difference is barely noticeable) with GPS and a little more memory, better camera, and some other tidbits. It also looks a bit slicker in my opinion.

If I was tight with money I would not have made the upgrade. Save your money and wait for a bigger jump in features/design than this.

my opinion: aslong the incrasement of the speed is noticable, it's worth the buy. i'm still "playing" with my HTC Wizard... and if it's even only 10% faster, it'll be a perfect upgrade.

it has everything my wizzard didn't have. it even looks great!
My phone history:
Motorola M3588 > NEC 21i > Nokia 3210 > another NEC 21i > Nokia 3310 > Motorola MPx200 > HTC Wizard > HTC Universal > HTC Kaiser > HTC Rhodium > HTC Desire > HTC One X!

To clarify, my "not worthwhile" rating is based on upgrading from a Hermes/TyTN. HSDPA/UMTS alone made Wizard->Hermes a "worthwhile" upgrade to me.

I'm in agreement that it's not really a monumental jump in features, like a true iPhone competitor would be, with WM7, a bigger screen, multitouch, and so on. A phone like that will probably be announced in January and released this time next year.

Still, I think this phone is worth upgrading to. Why? Because I can resell my current phone (p3300) for a lot more now than I'll be able to next year, because by then there will be phones like the Polaris to make mine horribly obsolete, compared to how it is now, being only mildly obsolete.

So my point is, look at what phone you have now. Look at if you want to sell it. Look at how much trade in value you will be able to get out of it now versus a year from now. That's the real value of the Kaiser.
