Unhappy Kaiser drops TIME ZONE to Prague???

Noticed a strange problem. Kaiser automaticly changes time zone from GTM London to GTM +1 Prague. It happens about every 45min. Regional Settings are set up for English (United Kingdom). Two of additional programs are TOMTOM and Sage ACT!.

Any thoughts???
HTC MTeoR-> HTC P3600-> HTC TyTN II-> HTC Touch PRO-> HTC Touch HD-> HTC Hero -> HTC Desire -> Samsung Galaxy SII -> Samsung Galaxy Note-> ?

Check in Settings/Phone/Time Zones; if "Automatic change time zone & clock" is checked, uncheck it. It may be that your local cell tower has the wrong time zone setting, and your phone picks this up & sets its timezone accordingly.

I heard this is due to the use of the AGPS!?

I have also read on another site that it could be a small bug in the QuickGPS downloading application that changes the timezone to GMT+1 when it grabs GPS data. It does seem a little strange that it is doing it every 45 minutes for you, unless you're continually running the QuickGPS app.

Hope this helps,
- Odie

That is the most common cause I think, our units at work do that. A lot (all?) of the Vodafone towers seem to set GMT+1 if you have tower sync turned on but keep the right actual time.

This is a 'feature' on most Windows Mobile devices not just the Kaiser (my TyTN, 200+ Wizards and a dozen or so Vox's do it). I have seen it on other phones that tower sync also having the problem.

I don't think it's QuickGPS -- I run it frequently and my time zone has never changed from US Eastern.

DONATE TO ME
It *is* QuickGPS - I can reproduce it by simply running a manual update: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...=1#post1513879

Strange, I just checked with mine and it doesn't do anything but downloading the data for gps. Do you use it over gprs/3g/hsdpa or wi-fi ?

I was doing it over WiFi - but usually it would happen when using activesync wired to the PC.

Have just read over at TracyandMats:

Go in to Phone > Options > Time Zone and turn off the Automatic Change Time Zone and Clock setting.

That *has* worked for me - I can now run QuickGPS without it changing the timezone....
