Damn now you go tme nervous again. No, I don't use any of those programs. But I was using Seven software's push email services (similar to BB and the next generation of Cingular's XpressMail service). So I was already using something to sync my email and calendar. And thus, i had a bunch of meetings already on my calendar, when I fired up BBC. My theory is that when I did that, it saw all the meetings on my calendar and decided to resend those as part of the initial BBC sync.

So this time, I removed all Seven software on my phone, which cleared all my mail and calendar (Seven has a nice "Wipe Phone" feature) And I was just about to try the BBC again when I saw this post from you. I already called AT&T, got BBUnl back on my account. Re-installed BBC on my phone and was about to gen the PIN. So, what happened inyour case today? Did you do something that may have tried to sync your calendar separate from BBC? and do you use BBC to sync your calendar?

See my responses this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...blackberry+PIE

And then Mush10's post (#15) in this thread:
http://howardforums.com/showthread.p...8&page=1&pp=15

The best way around these are:
" If you try and browse PIE or even go to MediaNet it is very slow because BB Connect constantly tires to retake the radio and you need to re-establish data connection almost everytime you access a new page. There are two workarounds for this - 1. As mentioned before you can use BB Browser which runs PIE, but not MediaNet and keeps you connected to the BES, or 2. which is the best option and most helpful if you are doing any significant surfing. Before clicking on the IE or Opera link, you can manually suspend your BB connection. You can then surf without incident as you normally would. When you are done, you simply resume your connection and you are back in BB business."

i had multiple apn's enabled on my 8525. its a simple registry setting.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Cellular\RIL]
"NetworkContexts"=dword:00000003
"Contexts"=dword:00000003

It doesn't work with the Kaiser though. The NetworkContexts value seems to be hardcoded to 1. It keeps coming back after i reset.

Does anyone know a way to effect a permanent change in the NetworkContexts value?

It is getting the NetworkContexts info from your SIM card. If you start the unit without a SIM, you'll see the setting sticks. As soon as you insert the SIM, NetworkContexts is set back to 1. I know this was working with other units, like Tytn, S621. I guess it is dependent on the ROM. I have a Eten X800 also, and that one does not even show NetworkContexts with the same SIM.

Is it possible that someone with MUCH more knowledge than myself about how this works could create a small application that would set the registry to allow multiple APNs automatically? This would pretty much help everyone who wants to use IE or Google Maps...etc.

I recall that there have been other types of tweaks that just ran on the device at every startup (after a reset) for enabling things like ClearType in landscape so it should be possible in this situation as well. Right?

Default Fixed

Go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\RIL\OperatorContex

There you will find several numbers. E.g. 26202 for Vodafone in Germany.

The number is a combination of MCC / MNC so 262 02. You might find you operator in this list:

http://surfio.de/info/mcc_mnc/mcc_mnc_liste_6.html

What happens is if your operator is not in this list there will be a key created with no contend. I inserted in there by copying from one of the others:

GPRSContextNumber = 3
UMTSContextNumber = 3

This is the source for the value of NetworkContexts in:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Cellular\RIL\

Just set the Contexts value to 3 and delete the NetworkContexts entry. It will be created from the source above with the value 3.

I am so happy that I finally found that out. That was such a pain for a long time. Hope that helps some others as well.

Thanks to luiggi who gave me the final hint in his thread:

Outstanding!

I'm now able to access the internet on my ATT Tilt without the data connection for Blackberry Connect shutting down. And without having to flash a custom rom.

Many thanks absahnen.

I tried to get this to work with my diamond and my tmobile sim card... I added 310330 to the list and put in the keys with a value of 3, however it does not help. Everytime I make a connection to tmobile via data or bbc, the networkcontext key defaults back instantly to 1... If i change it back to 3 it works, but once a connection disconnects it defaults back to 1.

Anyone have any ideas?
