Phatpad problem, HTC rom

I am running the rom update available from links on here on my xda orbit which is 3.4.206.2 wwe dated 31-8-07. I have tried using phatpad by installing to device and storage card, both of which made no difference. The problem is with the time it takes for the device to recognize touching the screen with the stylus, meaning phatpad is not seeing the pen stroke as it should and not until the stylus has been touching the screen for about a third of a second. The result is not what I intended and is missing the first part of the stroke. Once the touch of the stylus is seen it will draw whatever I do until I lift the stylus at which point it starts again.

The built in notes program is also doing the same, although to a lesser extent and is generally ok. There is definitely a delay in the device picking up the touch of the stylus. This problem is unknown to phatpad support and they don't know why its happening. I have used the program on all my xda's from the original to my new orbit without problems (and my Mitac Mio 168). I would really like this program working as it should.

In the meantime, does anyone know how to stop notes putting boxes around my "drawings" automatically, or how to get rid of the lines on the screen.
