Unhappy Poor wifi signal / just 6 meters can't detect any wireless

I've just got a this Ameo as a replacement from T-Mobile because the previous one had got a faulty camera.

I found that there must be having another problem. It can't detect the signal as it could be.

I have had an experiments with other 2 phones, Orbit and V1640

- 0 Metre from the wireless router
Orbit , V1640 --> Full Scale
Ameo -> Receive signal level 2 (from 4)

- 6 Metres

Orbit, V1640 --> Level 2-3
Ameo --> counldn't even detect wireless signal

Tested with various ROMs but the results were the same

- WM5 T-mobile
- WM6 TM and HTC
- Project Black PK3

Have tried with PHM to stop CPU scalling but didn't work either.

Does anybody have another other advice? Plssss

I don't wannt to fight against T-Mobile on this issue once again which was happened last time when I had got a blank screen camera

In this case, I might need to go back to wm5.
Moreover, WM6 Black Project has changed the T-Mobile Splash Screen to a cool one.

I'm afraid T-Mobile might not be happy when they have it pre-tested.

Can anyone also guide me where can I download T-Mobile WM5 Rom?

Hi
You havn't mention which version of the radio is in the Ameo. I use 1.50 and works fulscale at 1m and 1-2 at 25m. Signal strenth will be depend on the surroundings (in your case you have three devices next to each other) and your router's performance. Where you provide more details more help you get.
Good luck

try disabling security and adding a mac filter list with the devices you wish to connect to your router. I found that this boosted my Ameo's range extensively.

6.030.
I have tested with 1.45 and also the latest one Version 1.50
and the results were the same.
( In my sense, I don't think that radio rom is controlling wifi hardware)

Router setting:
- No security setting is applied

Thanks for the advice, Sabes143

Router Configurations:
No security setting is applied : Open , Disable security

As shown in the left picture,

0 metre (placed just next to the router)

Ameo detect signal at just level 2 from 4

And the boot screens can easily be flashed back to the Orig. T-Mobile pix. Do a search you'll find the files you need.

Default Poor Wifi Ameo / Athena

I am afraid about the poor Wireless and poor GPS in this Device. I changed the device 3 times there are differences at every device but its more or less poor because of poor technical design i think. Complainig at T-Mobile has had no success they cannot do anything.
They offered me to give the money back.
This coud be the greatest Device but not with this poor Funktions.

I fully agree. Poor wifi performance seems to be a 'built in feature'.
4 mtrs away from the range extender I only get level 2.
Disabling security made it better.
