Default Battery life?

Hi there,

I notice now for a while that the TyTN II has incredibly short battery life.
I've got a few questions about that. Are there ROMS out here, with which the battery life is longer?
And are there batteries out there with a higher capacity than 1350mah, but who still fit in the TyTN II without the need of a new back cover?

Thanks for your time

Regards,
Dennis

Although I don't have any answers, you are reading my mind. Hopefully one of the 'gurus' here have some answers!

You can read the posts under Kaiser accessories, this will help you find extended life batteries. I know there are a few posts there. As far as the Roms go, the fewer programs you have running the better off you are. I know active sync is a huge memory hog. I am using XDA live 1.3 and is great but it is for AT&T. I wish I could help YOU out more- trust me.

I switch from 3G to Edge when I am not browsing. My battery life greatly increased and I do use direct push.

So the XDA Live 1.3 is only for the AT&T Tilt? Not the TyTN II?

Anyway, besides this, I don't use 3G. Even without using the internet on my PDA, the batterylife is soooo darn short!

I have WM6 version 5.2.1921 (Build 18521.0.7.0), with latest Radio.

All the battery options I see here above 1600mAh, make the TyTN II bigger as far as I know...

DM

You don't use 3G did you shut it off? Can you elaborate a little on short what is short to you one full day?

Default Thanks!

Hi Martin!

Thanks for the tips. I will check out the area you suggested. I think I need to stop watching my slingbox on my Tytyn II ... I'm sure that would save me a lot of juice . I just can't seem to live without my American TV!
I think I will just buy a spare battery to swap with. I don't want to increase the size (or weight) of this thing any further!

As far as I know I shut it off. Under phone settings, I switched to GSM.

On a full day, hard to say. When I use the device "now and then" to lookup appointments and make a few calls, there's a quarter left at the end of the day.
Whatever I do, I need to recharge it every end of the day. It's a huge difference compared to an older Hermes device I owned.

DONATE TO ME
Yeah, same experience here as well. Very very disappointing indeed from an otherwise great PPC!
