Default 'Universal' Desktop Cradle

Works with many devices. Originally for the HTC Universal, but holds HTC Athena, Wizard, Typhoon and Polaris.

I agree thats pretty messed up. We are drooling looking at your TC while knowing that our Christmas will be a little less festive without ours.

Default I'm not Cruel, but HTC. . . .has wet our appetites

It's all in HTC's hands. . . .sorry about that, but thanks for following the thread. You will not be disappointed with this phone (when it arrives). I don't intend to be cruel, just trying to give a comprehensive overview of the device and in this thread, how it can be docked at your desk.

I had one of these for my old O2 XDA Orbit: http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/12706.htm

I can confirm that this DOES NOT fit the new HTC Touch Cruise. The bit behind the device is too curved which means that the TC has to lean forward and so it won't line up onto the USB plug which is angled backwards in the cradle. The positioning is OK left/right but the angle is badly wrong so it won't go in.

It's a shame because I liked this cradle, it was small, cheap and unobtrusive on the desk and I'd got quite addicted to just dropping the device into a cradle. I hope someone will post experiences if they find a similar device that does fit. The Universal Cradle that started this thread looks too big for me.

I have the touch cruise and bought this cradle. The cruise fits fine in it. The one btsanev linked to looks nicer though

Are you sure we're talking about the same cradle? I bought mine in December 2007. Maybe they've changed the design because we can't both be right and I'm sure that neither of us has any reason for posting wrong information on this forum.

To try and get to the bottom of this:

1) When did you buy your cradle?
2) Are you sure it is exactly this model?
3) What angle is the USB plug relative to the vertical? My slopes backwards by about 20 degrees. I think that if there was even 5 degrees less rake on the connector then my TC would fit.

Until/unless Baimo and I can get to the bottom of this then I really wouldn't recommend any TC owner buying the cradle I linked to unless you view it as sufficiently cheap to just take a risk that this might be down to batch/manufacturing tolerances.

Mine doesn't have that flat recessed bit at the rear of the device and it looks as if mine has much more rounded corners in the receiving area at the front of the device (the bit where the USB plug lives) which is the big problem with mine because those rounded corners mean that my TC can't sit back in the cradle so it won't align with the USB connector.

Is your TC a comfortable fit into this cradle or is it a case of it just fits but it's a bit tight?
