Haha, cool. I've been called crazy for trying to explain that about GPS before. Just an idea though... interesting, because I can't wait to take mine on a plane and see what happens.

@xconradx: No youre not nuts - i can confirm that there are regulations (thats why we are gonna send up Gallileo *g*) - but i can hardly believe that this was the bugger: The readings were accurate (too accurate to prevent abuse) for 2:45min - and then the readings were just insane.

I hope we can find a workaround...
Just a quick thought, did you notice what your battery level had dropped to if you were not on PSU?

I've never used my GPS for long battery periods (in the car its always on cig lighter PSU) and wondered if the drain may have had an effect on it!

PSU? Portland State University? no... whats psu? [edit: psu = power supply unit... ahaaa!]

I had an eye on the battery level the whole day... all in all i started with 100% and when the gps madness happened it was around 60 or 70%. After the softreset everything went fine again. All in all i had battery for 10 hours - included about 4 hours flight with only GPS online and GSM and dataconnection offline. The rest of the time (6 hours) i had an established GRPS (turned UMTS off for saving battery) AND GPS all the time.

I dont really think that this is an battery issue... :-/

OFFTOPIC: hmm... i dont think that your problem has something to do with the gps issue discussed in this thread. Unfortunately I dont know the application you are talking about and so i doubt that i can help you.

You should ask the developer / seller of garmin mobile xt where you bought it... - if you didnt bought it ask where you got it from (but please dont ask for warez or help for warez in this forum...) Good luck!

ONTOPIC: Anyone an idea how to deactivate Quickgps?
