Default Reliable in car charging

Hi folks, stupid question time.

Can anyone put me onto a decent in car charger that will last more than 20 mins in regular usage? preferably one that has a longish straight lead, as it is to be used in a peugeot where the power socket is miles from the xda holder.

Could there be a hardwiring solution?

Apologies for the muppet questions but I am new to these fella's, my old trusty nokia having just expired from old age, lol.

best regards

well, u could just buy a in car charger from eBay or somewhere, and cut the old wire off and replace it with something suitable

WARNING: Do NOT have the phone plugged in while starting the car!!! you will blow the USB board, which means that you wont be able to use USB to transfer files, or use ActivSync!!!

Hmmmm, was hoping for something commercial as it will be used in a taxi by many different hands but i suppose the heath robinson method is worth a try.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to a really stupid question. Hehe now I know I can ask many more........

Its not a stupid question at all!

I would use a standard mini usb charger but don't for rear of forgetting to disconnect before starting the engine.

So, I get about four hours of nav from one battery.

There must be a better solution?
