After I did my first hard reset it said "Clearing Data, Please wait". It said this for a long time and I too thought there was a problem so I did another hard reset while it still displayed "Clearing Data, Please wait". On doing it this second time, the "Clearing Data, Please wait" was there for a few seconds, then the PDA began to boot... simple as that.

If yours continues to fail, try the whole flashing process again and it should work... mine did!

What is the latest Rom ?
Hi all

just arriving in the 4700 world...
in order to upgrade my 4700 to WM6.1, which Rom do you consider the best
(Alkor, kozhura...)
All the posts dealing with Roms are pretty old..2008 or so
Any new stable, finalized one ?

thks in advance for reply

there is no one best rom. some work better than others in different ways. some are lite versions with some stuff removed. best thing to do is try the ones that you like and see which works bet for you. BTW a few posts back there is a link to a 6.5 rom. i have d/l it but havent tried it myself yet.... point is it cant hurt your 4700 so try a few....

i tried wm6.5 its ok and very basic would like to see it more modified with more ram maybe and speed wise and some extras. Its little bit faster then anklor 6.1 although wm5 still for me is the best and fastest with ram also. all roms have been installed on xp with no problems.

The spiaate 6.5 rom seems to run laggy on my hx4700 ... I put the hp wm6 (Classic) on and it runs as fast as it did on the WM5 that was installed when I got the PDA.

Pity, I love the look of the 6.5 ... except for the colour
