I ported WM 6.1 build 19202 over from a kaiser rom. I finally worked all the bugs out except for one...

How do i change the name of the rom in the 'About' screen?

It reads:

Kaiser Rom
CE OS 5.2.19199 (Build 19202.1.0.0)

I own a wing that thinks its a kaiser now!

did you try editing the nbh with romtool?

Yup, I used HTC Rom Tool and set the version = ICP-Touch 2.0 A

I just rebuilt and flashed it, same problem.

If your looking to change the Rom Version:

OEM/OEMVERSION/mxipupdate_OEMVERSION_100.provxml

I tried that too, didn't work, then I gave up. Had WAY too many issues with my ported version.

Ok, I just couldn't give up. I found another rom to port from, hopefully without a version name. I still would like to know how to change the version name of the rom.

I thought I had found it, but it ended up not working properly. It wasn't a total loss though; I did learn a lot about where the language 'strings' are stored.

Does anyone know how embed a custom version name into the 'About' screen.
