availability of GPRS/EDGE/HSDPA

I'm searching for a Softwaretool for displaying the current available Network (such as HSDPA/EDGE/GPRS).
maybe someone knows such a tool!

You might shorten the standby time, since it'll have to check availability of the network quite often.

yes, but if some software uses a button for getting the current availability of Networks i would not have this Problem.
also the Field strength is an information i have to know!

download the HTC battery display plugin and when you go into the options of it you can view % of network signal as an additional option
