UPDATE: less than 24 hours after v4, there's v4.1 - now with bug fixes!

Beta v4.1 of the first WM6.1 ROM for Shadow now available and stable!

RECENT CHANGES/FIXES:

• incoming and outgoing call screens work
• battery status on home screen
• Comm manager background/icons fixed
• Start menu background doesn't flicker anymore
• Unlock screen instructions corrected
• Accessibility control panel works
• Remove programs list populates
• Screen lights up for all user prompts
• Manual email account creation fixed

BUGS/TASKS (priority):

• BUG: incoming text messages time-stamped on GMT regardless of my local time
• BUG: Voice Command missing
• BUG: myfaves issues
• TASK: replace and reduce startup screens
• BUG: unlock screen doesn't display date/time even when set to do so

FUTURE IDEAS:

• Package ROM as one-step install
• Package ROM as kitchen
• Possible integration of old Neo interface as optional home-screen
• Possible change to hardware wheel behaviour on Slide interface
• Include extra apps (ie. NeoOrder, MoDaCo NoData, etc.)
• Include extra home screen plugins (ie. weather, myfaves?)

Installation instructions and download links

Instructions for those running an official T-Mobile Shadow ROM that is CID-unlocked (http://www.elims.org/downloads/HTC-T...tionUnlock.exe) and connected to ActiveSync or WMDC with MicroSD slot empty...

1. Download http://rapidshare.com/files/10598166...mpSPL.zip.html, unzip, follow readme.txt
2. Download http://rapidshare.com/files/105981821/RUU.zip.html, unzip, run ROMupdateUtility.exe

(those steps were just to protect the SPL (ie. BIOS) of your phone. the next step flashes the new ROM)

3. Download http://rapidshare.de/files/39323901/PHOEIMG.rar.html, UnRar, and move NBH file into RUU folder extracted in step #2. Remove "Shadow-USPL.nbh" file from that folder. Run ROMupdateUtility.exe

im looking in the reg on v3 and am only finding that value data in connmanager(ithink it was i know it was conn....) nowere in my5 is networkgui mentioned.

im going to install t-mobile rom so i can check out the reg. and get a complete reg dump for future reference instead of guessing and wondering old values


since v3 is working without problems for me. the only thing stopping me from updating atm is this BUG: incoming and outgoing call screens are blank... does this mean white screen... or just black screen light last release ?


edit. im surprised on how fast 60 mbs will download OTA 45 minutes. not bad t-mobile edge. hope 3g will download this file in 10 minutes considering they will be the only carriar using 1700 for 3g... ok back ontopic....

eit2. So I'm sitting here thinking. Why dont we create a OTA package just gotta find a moile friendly download site


after installing all my cabs... i found that BackgroundImage_Port.bmp is missing from windows directory causing phone call backgrounds to be white.

Hey, can anybody post BackgroundImage_Port.bmp from the v3 ROM then?

Yeah, I'm going to make a little beta 4.1 if someone can upload the backgroundimage_port.bmp. I guess this is what happens when you clean out all the SYS files.

I'll also look through all the PROVXML files to find the myfaves problems. Those provxml files are really annoying...

I don't have that file in the Windows directory of my Shadow. I'm running Beta 3.

I noticed that the WM6.1 rom (I still have V3) didn't have the following registry entries required to change the in call background or the dialing backgound.

can you add the following to the Rom:

Text Color:

majorcolor = Dword: 16777215
textcolor = Dword: 16777215

16777215 = white text or 0 = black text

Portrait:

Attached is backgroundimage_port.bmp so you can add it to the rom as well. I will update my themes with these changes as well.

Added the registry keys and images. I've also added the battery status image and regedits you mentioned. Sorry, I had gone off somewhere and didn't noticed it had an error building registry. It'll be there in another hour.
