RT uses WM GPS configurations and does not connect directly to any COM port.

thank you for the hard work... i tried using it and it came out great... the database options are a certain advantage over Where Is My Phone.. but it also takes up more memory and requires additional software... i'm sticking with WIMP because i don't need more than what it offers.. (and because i bought it ).. but all in all.. yours is better.

cheers!

Hi joubertvasc,

Great bit of software, Unfortunatley i lost my Orbit2 a few weeks ago so this would have been sweet to use. Fortunatley i have a new one now and the cooked ROM i'm using has RT installed.
Just a few questions....
If the phone is hard reseted will RT loose the config settings ?
If so Is there anyway of editing the config while in Extended rom so if it is hard resetted then you still dont loose out ?
The addition of receiving the new SIM's incomming and outgoing texts would be great... i'm sure your working on this though
Also one great addition would be to scan the local storage and external storage for the Tomtom, co-pilot, Igo (and more) and some way find out the new home destination. Not sure if this is possible but worth mentioning.

One more question.... Lets say if the theif has tried a new sim and you have been sent that the theifs number.... If they hard reset, will TR respond if the same SIM is still in the phone eve though the config has been wiped ?

Anyway, keep up the good work !!
Will happily do any testing if you require

Yes. I'm working to make a new version for ROM cookers. This version will have backups of the configurations to be restored when the system started for first time.

Great idea. I'll add to my TODO list

The IMSI of your original SIM card is stored in registry with all other configuration. So, after a hard reset, every configuration is lost. I'm hope next version can help ROM cookers to solve this problem.

Hello!

Version 0.10 is out. This is my first release candidate. There is a lot of modifications:

- Split the aplication in two. Now RTConfig only configure RemoteTracker. The commands are answered by rt.exe;

- The configuration now has backups. These backups can be useful to auto repair your settings if you hard reset your device;

- A new tool was created to be used in PC. With this tool you can create a RT configuration backup file. This is useful for ROM cookers. If you decide to use a custom ROM made by third part, and this ROM has RT inside, use must create this configuration file to be added to the ROM before use flash your device. In this case, if everything is alright, RT becomes to hard reset safe;

- New command: eganfl to get a list of audio files recorded by VITO Audio Notes;

- New command: eganf to get all audio files recorded by VITO Audio Notes;

- New command: findme. This is the same as GP command, but RT will ask you if you want to answer the command;

- New command: alarm to play a sound file. Useful to find your device in your home;

- SMSLauncher now verify if RT is configured. If not, SL will load the configuration backup and auto configure RT.

I hope this version can be used by ROM cookers to put RT inside their ROMs and make it safe from hard reset!

I invite ROM cookers to test this version. Boge made a good tool here: http://eten-users.eu/index.php?showtopic=14946, but he didn't have this new version.

Cheers,
Joubert
