Question Alltel Touch on Verizon

Is there any way to use an Alltel Touch on the Verizon network?

Two situations here
1) A friend has a Touch and is currently on Alltel. They have moved to a non-Alltel covered area (that is covered by Verizon) and want to continue to use their Touch - can they?

2) Alltel Touch phones cheap ($225) on eBay and I'd like to pick up one as a spare (I'm a Verizon customer). Would it be possible to add it to Verizon's network.

TIA!

Actually you cant get any other non-verizon phones on their network because they only allow Verizon ESN numbers on their network. Not until they open up in the coming months will they allow other carriers phones, yet they still have to approve the phone which imo defeats the purpose of "open access."

I have the alltel/sprint rom on my xv6900 works flawlessly.

DONATE TO ME
It can be done. The easy part is the software conversion and getting data working the hard part is getting the esn added in. Here is a post by me on ppcgeeks.com if you would like to try it http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=20090
