Good NEWS I am now able to generate Unbranded .nv2 file with IMEI no. that is identical to yours one (even the last digit) If u need .nv2 file, pm(Private Message) me with ur (i)IMEI no. and (ii)Email address. And use an Unbranded rom with it. If you have a branded .nv2 and want me to unbrand it for you, you can email me your .nv2 raykisi@yahoo.com.hk (better notice me by pm after you send me email) The benefit of Unbranded .nv2 are: 1) With Unbranded .nv2 you can flash with any Official Unbranded rom directly, without modification need to solve the OTP and illegal use issue. 2) No more SIM lock

Note: the size of .nv2 file is always about 116KB

There are two ways to connect KS20 to LGMDP: (a) Normal mode and (b) Emergency mode

What can Normal mode does?
In noraml mode, you can do backup and restore .nv2 file, and also flash your KS20 with new rom
Flashing process in Normal mode:
1. Backup .nv2 file from your KS20
2. Switch your phone to emergency mode and start flashing
3. Restore .nv2 file when your phone 1st startup. and reboot (so dun unplug the USB yet at 1st startup, otherwise .nv2 will not be restored automatically)
(note: Even .nv2 file will be backup automatically by LGMDP during the whole flashing process, it is recommonded to do a .nv2 backup manually by yourself b4 any flash)

What can Emergency mode does?
In Emergency mode, you can only flash your KS20 with new rom, only use that if your KS20 is Bricked
Flashing process in Emergency mode:
1. The flashing process start immediately without making .nv2 backup automatically
(Note: Since that Emergency mode flashing would not backup .nv2 automatically for you, thus ONLY use Emergency mode for flashing if you already have a .nv2 file with you)

(a) Normal mode connection method
Step 1: Install "LG Corona USB Driver" in computer

Step 2: Change necessary settings in engineering menu
At device:
-enter this code to dialpad: 2676625720#
-engeneering menu will show.
-press:
Port Setting → 1. Diag Setting → 1. USB Set for Diag → “OK” → “Back”.
(Port Setting → 1. Diag Setting →) 2. USB Switching → “LG Composite -DUN, DIAG”.
-press Done and reset your device.
This will set your usb port as a composite usb port.

Note:
"LG Composite" is for flashing new rom, backup and restore .nv2 ONLY.
"Microsoft USBfn" is for conecting to Windows Mobile Device Centre or ActiveSync

Step 3: Install "WinDiag_Open.cab" or import WinDiag.reg to KS20 (this is not necessary for some old roms, but most roms need it)

Alternatively, you can also edit the registry by PHM Regedit (or things like that) instead of importing "WinDiag.reg" or installing "WinDiag_Open.cab"
Add these two lines:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\WINDIAG\Settings]
"Enable"=dword:1

(note: for importing .reg file or editing registry you have to use app like "SKTools" or else)

Step 4: Soft reset KS20

Step 5: Plugin USB to KS20 and press "select port" in LGMDP(LGMDP_EURO) to connect to it

(b) Emergency mode connection method
Step 1: Unplug USB from your KS20 and switch it off

Step 2: Press and hold "Send" and "e" key, then press "Power" key while you are still holding that two keys. A Green led should come up and stay on

Step 3: Plugin USB and connect to LGMDP(LGMDP_EURO)

Sorry, this is not for OTP block fix.

For OTP block, you have to flash your phone again with "Erase EFS" option CHECKED.
If problem still arise,
Flash a Branded or Hybrid rom if the rom that cause OTP block is an Unbranded rom
OR
Fash an Unbranded rom if the rom that cause OTP block is a Branded or Hybrid rom

ok at step 1
-I am not sure how to install the WinDiag_Open.cab
-I am not sure how to import WinDiag.reg using the the two programs.. Both programs will not install or I don't know how to install them. I am on Vista HB 32bit.

This is probably easy but stuff knows how to do it.. whenever i sit down to fix my KS20 it is past midnight and I can't seem to get it working.....

copy the cab file across to your phone with activesync
and then run it from your phone

The cab and reg are supposed to use in phone not vista, so either install the cab or import the reg in KS20

I already backup .nv2 file before upgrade.
But I cannot restore .nv2 file.
I always display "Cannot find backup file" when I select NV restore.
What can I do? Please help.
