Default google maps not working on WM6 pro

My old version of google maps worked absolutely fine but I wanted the locate me feature using your mobile phone signal. Now google maps wont load properly. I just get an error message saying wininet ReadError [0]. The link it say I should go to www.google.com/gmm/configure.html does not work at all. I am connected via wifi.

what version of google maps are you running? the lastest version is 2.1.0.14. You may be having a proxy issue. Or you may have to try removing it and re-installing it again.

I get the same error. I just purchased a T-Mobile Dash (HTC Excalibur) and installed GMM. I'm also using Wi-Fi. I haven't added the data plan yet, but I'm wondering if that will do it. I'm still looking around for a solution.

Mine shows it's "downloading ..." something when I open GMM and then gives the error after a short period of time. If I hit retry the count of downloaded kb continues to increase before timing out again. It goes very slowly. I let it get up to 24kb downloaded before I gave up.

Other connectivity seems fine (Internet Explorer, POP e-mail, Google Mail App, Opera Mini).

Version 2.0.1.17 works fine over Wi-Fi and includes the "My Location" feature.

I found the fix in this thread (http://groups.google.com/group/googl...f35d0fd46e0488) and downloaded it from here (http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-...v1-2-0-13.html).

I've attached the CAB file.
