OK, this is my first time to dump my own ROM, and I just want to rebuild it as a backup, and i have encoutered quite a few problems. OK, first of all, i dumped raw files successfully. I also extracted your cook rar, and copied part 1 and 2 to "BaseROM" dir. Now comes the trouble part.

1. Where can I find RUU_signed.nbh??? What exe to unpack? i didn't understand that at all from the readmefirst file.

2. I went to see what would happen when i start !Begin.cmd, and I warned me that RUU_signed.nbh could not be found. Everything else is probably beacuse of this file missing, and if not i'll write some more problems. To cut the long story short, !Cook.cmd couldn't do it's job, and cooking failed.

So, please help people

edit: ok, i found RUU_digned.nbh, copied it to BaseROM folder, started Build again, and few time i god message that specified file was not found. After that i hit !Cook and same thing happens. After some time, and building (BuildOS program finished with making registry), at 10th batch, HTC ROM Tool I get the next message:

"Some of files encountered inside project was not found:

%path%\JugglerLKR_RAPHAEL_ROM_Kitchen_v0.5\os-new.nb"

By looking at Process Explorer a program named htcrt.exe encounters this error.

What seems to be the problem?

Do you need any more info and what?

thanks in advance

So I'm probably missing the obvious here, but I can't unzip this because I don't have the password. no txt file downloaded with the zip. Is it in the rar. file? Like I said I am probably missing something obvious here.

Is there a way to edit the HTC ROM Tool project file to include a splash screen with the ROM nbh when it builds?

I know the file can be modified with any text editor, but I don't know which commands to add to it.

Hi, and sorry to be not so active in the thread...

The INI for HTC Rom Tool have the section definitions for the Raphael...

[Raphael]
ModelId=RAPH*****
SignMaxChunkSize=64
SPL=$200
SPLN=SPL
Splash1=$600
Splash1N=Splash
Radio=$301
RadioN=Radio
System=$400
SystemN=System

And the project file has the sections to include in the NBH...

[Project]
Magic=kateiloveyou
Version=1
[Buildrom]
Device=Diamond
ModelId=RAPH*****
CountryId=11111111
VersionId=1.90
LanguageId=WWE
Sect_0x400=False,"os-new.nb"

So seems easy to include the Splash adding a Sect_0x600 line...

I can't test it now, but sure you can

Cheers

Thank you very much.

So I would add a line like this:

Sect_0x600=False,"splash.nb" ?

Unhappy Registry blues...

Hi

Great work on the kitchen.... but

I'm trying to implement this registry change as part of a package which I created for ringtones.

Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds]
"Ringtones"=hex(7):\
      52,69,6E,67,2D,42,65,6C,6C,61,2E,77,6D,61,00,52,69,6E,67,2D,42,65,6C,6C,\

      5F,4E,75,65,76,6F,2E,77,6D,61,00,00
Which should translate into this (and it does when viewed with CERegEditor):

Code:
Ring-Bella.wma
Ring-Bells.wma
Ring-Birds1.wma
Ring-Birds2.wma
Ring-Chimer.wma
Ring-Clinky.wma
Ring-DustyStrings.wma
Ring-Electro_Green.wma
Ring-FlamencoFire.wma
Ring-Flute1.wma
Ring-Flute2.wma
Ring-French_Garden_classical.wma
Ring-Generic1.wma
Ring-Generic2.wma
Ring-Generic4.wma
Ring-Gold_Ring_classical.wma
Ring-Guitaro.wma
Ring-Innovation.wma
Ring-Leaves.wma
Ring-OldPhone1.wma
Ring-OldPhone2.wma
Ring-Raining.wma
Ring-Random.wma
Ring-Tonic.wma
Ring-Waterfall.wma
Ring_Candygram_01.wma
Ring_Candygram_02.wma
Ring_Candygram_03.wma
Ring_Candygram_04.wma
Ring_Elegant.wma
Ring_Nuevo.wma
Even after the .hv files have been created and I edit them with CERegEditor they appear to be perfect.

Then I flash the rom and no ringtones appear in the list of ringtones... if I view the contents of that key in the registry is appears as a lot of gibberish.

Furthermore, If I apply the information directly to the device using CERegEditor everything works fine and the list of ringtones appear as expected.

Am I doing this incorrectly - Is there another way to achieve that or is it indicating a possible bug?

Thanks in advance

Windows Mobile does not see any ringtones in the \Windows\ root. They need to be in \Windows\Rings.

If you look at the HTCApps.provxml file, you will notice that they have all of their included ringtones coded to be copied to %CE2\Rings.

In my ROMs, I use an XML file to copy tones into %CE2\Rings. Once there, the device will see them.
