That's when I can continue with the upgrade (the HTC Program that pops up). When that program starts, my phone boots into a rainbow looking screen (I said bootscreen, it may not be). From here the HTC program says it has no connection (and there is indeed no Active Sync connection). I then have to reboot the phone to get it back on the phone's desktop.

What do I do?

This Solution comes from the update utility.

ERROR [260] : CONNECTION

This error occurs when there is an “open port error” before upgrading the CE ROM image.

Solution: You can reset the device and run RUU again. If you still encounter an “OPEN PORT ERROR” again, reset your computer and try again.

Q: If I encounter ERROR [260] : CONNECTION, what should I do?
A: You can reset the device and run RUU again. If you still encounter the same ERROR again, reset the computer PC and try again.

I will see if there is another Solution

I uploaded a test ROM for jagesso to try and fix the DRM issue this was not a public release I should have protected the file however I didn’t.
Now not to be an ass but if those who downloaded it have problems don’t snivel and bitch to me it wasn’t a public release.
With that said if it does work let me know.
I just don’t want to hear any bitching or complaints from anyone except jagesso.
No bitchin' here! DRM works perfectly. I really appreciate your effort on this (especially considering you don't own a freakin' Shadow!).

Thanks again, this is really fantastic. Great ROM!

Glad to hear everything is working I’ll go ahead and post the update for everyone on Friday.
This will give more time for testing.

To those experiencing Wi-Fi problems: the can't connect/dropping connection issues you describe are NOT related to this ROM. I have this same issue with the standard T-Mobile ROM and every other ROM I've tried. Luckily, there is a simple fix:

1. Go to Settings
2. Connections
3. WLAN Settings
4. Power Mode
5. Change "Power save mode" to "Best performance" (default is "Best battery")
6. Done
7. Restart phone

This fixes about 80% of my WiFi connection problems. I believe the rest to be with the Shadow's hardware. My wife has a Dash, and she is able to flawlessly connect to the same wireless networks that I have troubles with.
