Preliminary Project Goals (subject to change)

- Expand band to encompass US 3G if no hardware limit exists
- Optimize PagePool
- Update ROM to later build
- Updated Radio
- Enable scrolling via d-pad circle, smarttouch wheel or whatever it's called. I have no idea what it's called so i did my best.
- Enhance and tweak ROM for more speed, stability/reliability, etc.
- When available, include newer versions of software.

UPDATES 0 (September 08, 2008)

- Donations are coming in for team members that don't have devices. We would like to thank everyone. If you haven't dontated, please see if you can. We still have a couple of devices to get for these guys.
- Internal Alpha testing of new ROM is underway. We're playing around with different settings, tweaks, enhancements and attempting to enhance stability and speed.
- Several radio's have been tested for US 3G functionality but none have yielded any results. I've personally contacted HTC and asked point blank..."is there a hardware limit for US 3G on your HTC Touch Pro device or is it software based?". Their response was that there is no hardware limitation and that US 3G wasn't released with the device because it hadn't gone through proper testing at the time of release. This in itself is positive. If you have access to a Fuze or AT&T version of the device, contact us. Just because someone else contacted us doesn't mean we don't need to keep testing and trying. We'll post an update as soon as we've successfully enabled US 3G support for this device.
- As with any project this team works on, we value everyone's input. We ask that if you have suggestions and/or recommendations for freeware, tweaks, enhancements of any kind...drop us a line. If it passes certain testing criteria it may be included in the final release or at the very least included in the add-ons pack.

UPDATES 1 (September 12, 2008)

Hi everyone here is a quick update from the Elite Team just to let you know our progress so far.

-Official Team Members:
AstainHellBring, Cmonex, Olipro, Chainfire, MrVanx, LennySh & Boinger
Ltxda is still involved however hes taking a back seat role at the moment due to higher priority matters with his family, see this thread.

-ROM Progress:
We are currently testing out the tweaks and alterations being made to speed up the ROM and also to improve the battery life, currently the ROM is nice and fast with alot of improvement over the stock ROM. Currently we are in alpha testing pretty much with nightly builds. Cosmetic changes to the ROM are minor at the moment, alot of the final packages are in and working correctly.

-US 3G Progress:
Working with the ATT Fuze device and the standard touch pros we have deduced that it is not as simple as just replacing the NV items on the touch pro with those from the fuze, some extra calibration is needed to make it work correctly (unless it is really not supported in hardware). Progress is continuing with the issue so dont sell your touch pros just yet

This basically means that some of the best developers and testers are going to work together in an organized and professional fashion to come out with a well thought out and tested ROM for this device. We are a well structured team and have some of the best, if not the best, talent on the project team.

To everyone,

We can start by having people post their suggestions for the ROM. These will only be suggestions and just because they are posted doesn't mean that they will be implemented into the ROM...but we'll do our best.

Also, please donate to the project. We still have to get a few devices. I won't be getting my device from donations nor using that money at all. I've already ordered the device on my own dime since I have a legit use for it. If I didn't and it was only a purchase for this project, I would use project funds. Cmonex has the link in her signature to donate to. I haven't set mine up yet.

Will there be localized ROMs once localized Pros are shipped (e.g. German Rom )?

Will you create a ROM with all the goodies from the Pro just optimized as well as possible with added useful applications? Or will you focus on differen rom versions (light, pro, full, whatsoever)...?

We're going to put together a project definition taking into account what the device is capable of doing and suggestions from the community. Hope to have something posted soon.
