Just set to COMM 4 and baud to 4800, then hit open and Nav Init buttons in that order.

Clear memory and Cold start are good settings if you are having problems getting a lock. Once you see emphemeris data streaming in the box below it should look like screenshot 1.

Once you have a lock, it should look different with much more info (I will post screenshots later).

You can watch the sat radar too by clicking that tab.

I just got the GPS stuff on my phone today so I'm kinda new at this but been reading a lot over the last couple of days...
Did the "QuickGPS" download.
OK so yes I got the HTC GPS tool and it will display a lot of stuff going on (across the above screen you posted) using baud of 57600 or 4800 but no satellites show up on the satellite tab (fix not available) when I hold it to the window of my building.
Sorry to be such a "newbe" but you said "clear memory" do you mean turn it off and back on or where might this setting be?

I'm headed outside next to try it out. Thank you for the help

VZW 6800 /MR2
rom 3.57.605.2 (10/3/08)

Not getting anything. I will have to try it outside when I get a chance.

Clear memory is one of the settings on the drop down menu of the htc gps tool.

Well, first if you are MR1 or MR2 you need Valhalla cab to have unlocked GPS anyways so first lets make sure you are ok there. Second, it has to be 4800 baud and being outside or driving will help. Since aGPS seems to not be working, it may take a while.

Clear memory is a setting under the drop-down menu where it says "hot start" but it may not help given the situation. It does not mean a restart or anything like that. I believe it clears previous emphemeris information (i.e. where the satellites are in space) from previous locks, thereby enabling a hot start for the GPS chip.

I have also found that a soft reset can help if GPS is taking a long time to load.

Default VZW 6800 w/ MR2

I installed the Valhalla cab (the install process ran). Did not find an program to launch afterward.
Lots of Data going accross the HTC GPS tool screen. I've had it going for over 5 minutes with no relative info on the Information or Satellite tabs. It almost looks as though once the tabs have been looked at they don't get any further updates???
Could this just be something like what everyone else is having trouble with?

You need to read through this thread to make sure you are installing Valhalla correctly as instructed, I am only really speaking to those who have lost GPS functionality that they once had working rather than troubleshoot, sorry. I would try to drive around and see if you ever get any red bars on the sat radar.

I think Verizon shut the aGPS off. Maybe they're getting ready to unlock the GPS on all their windows mobile phones and this is in preparation for it.

I used to use the GPS on my VX6800 all of the time. Worked flawlessly. As of yesterday, it stopped working for me. And it's still now working for me now. It switches between red and yellow and never green. I'm sure they're up to something. It's a good thing I also have a separate GPS device that I can use as backup till they get this straightened out.

I don't know, Verizon doesn't give away anything for free, they probably hated giving away the MR1 and MR2 without charge. I would be surprised if they are planning to give away aGPS because they invested in locking our phones to VZnav.

Default Try this

Ok, I was able to get things working with mode 0. I looked through the device and found this address and port, maybe someone can try it out, doesn't seem to work faster for me, but it now works in mode 2 for me.

\\KHLM\Software\Valhalla Legends\GPSServer\PDEAddress = C3CF657E (hex)
\\HKLM\Software\Valhalla Legends\GPSServer\PDEPort = 7788
