Its kind of funny that HTC went and approached the iPhone issue by explicitly not producting iPhone clones, only to eventually have those phones eventually become more and more iphone like.

not iphone>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>iphone clone
HTC Touch>HTC Diamond>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>HTC Touch HD

looks like the screen will be close to 4" based on those specs and that design (there is very little empty space on the face).
The athena is a great size for a mini tablet with its 5" but has a fair bit more more area than any of these phones in the comparision as it is more square.

I think that the whole touch concept has its place, but about two thirds of what I do is faster with many buttons, a dpad and a Keyboard (i.e. Titan, Kaiser, etc).

Between the Titan, IPhone and the Omnia, I would say that - from a practical standpoint - the Titan is the most efficient of the three but the Omnia is the smallest and most "fun".

RIM was a real innovator with the blackberry. While I don't particularly like their devices, the scoll + buttons UI is remarkably powerful and fast.

Tech and Os specs would be great !

the screen size hasn't been confirmed has it?

how do you know it "beats" those phones?
the case size is almost identical to the iphones, so if the screen is the same size it would be 3.5", but....we don't know the size of the screen.

"Camcorder: 320x240 pixels , 30frame/sec"

WHAT?!

you have GOT to be ****ing me!
why the hell have HTC got such lousy video recording?

before i saw this i was in the market for a replacement for my Universal that was going to be an Xperia X1, a "snapdragon" or "android" platform device.

i see this thing and think "beautiful, finally a screen worthy to succeed the Universal's.......waitaminute.....QVGA video recording?

if the Xperia X1 can do 800*480@30fps in 2 formats (3GP & H.263), then why the hell have the diamond, and now this been software crippled to such a degree?

it must be software because the Xperia X1 runs the SAME CPU and manages.

so what's up HTC?

And where is the built-in stylus? I don't see it in the specs. One of the reasons the omnia is a no-no.

Can't imagine using a spreadsheet without a stylus. Drawing, scribbling etc, in fact all of the advantages of the current HTC phones with non capacative screens, are thereby lost. Drawing with a finger is just stupid.

Hope the old screen type is kept!
