Default F**** Vista :)

same problem but other machine(I think that the bluetooth dongle is the same- Broadcom) : Samsung R560, Vista 32bit Home Premium

When I try to connect my Diamond, Vista asks me for Installing Bluetooth Peripheral Device...Thereīs no possiblitlity to find one at the computer and even the German HTC Support doesnīt have any idea (but the Support-Guy didnīt seem to have any knowledge about pcīs )
The strange thing is, that the Laptop and the device are connected after entering the access-code, but no services are available.

Therefore guys, youīre my one and only hope (yes, I also accept an advice of a woman ) Please help me....

Hey Guys, I am new to XDA Forums. Its a great place to be for Windows Mobile Users. Coming to the point, here is the solution for the problem that all of you are facing. I am telling the steps according to Windows Vista as i am running it as my only OS. If anybody faces this problem on Windows XP, i hope the steps will be quiet same, otherwise contact me by PM.

The Bluetooth peripheral device that Vista detects is the "Windows Mobile-based Device Support" device. It should be configured properly when Windows Mobile Device Center (Sync Center) is installed but it somehow gets messed up. I think Micorosoft will soon release a patch for this problem. Anyways for now, do this:

1. Install Windows Mobile Device Center that comes on the Companion CD with your phone if you haven't already done so. Even if you have installed it, open Programs and Features from Control Panel and repair the installation. I am using a HTC P3400i and my CD comes with versions for XP and Vista both.

2. The first step may solve your problem automatically. If it doesn't, however, Right Click on Computer Icon and Choose Manage.

3. Goto Device Manager. You'll see an Unknow Device named Bluetooth Peripheral Device. Double Click it to open its properties.

4. Click "Reinstall Driver" on the first tab.

5. Click "Browse My Computer for Driver Software" button.

6. Click "Let Me Pick from a List of Device Drivers on my computer".

7. Now the next page will show a list of drivers with Company Names in one list and Drivers in another. In the Company List choose Microsoft Corporation, not only Microsoft. Please confirm this twice that you dont choose Micorosoft but Micorosoft Corporation.

8. Now in the drivers list there may be one or more drivers with the name "Windows Mobile-Based Device Support" with different driver versions. I cant tell you which will work for you, but start with the newest version.

9. Click next. Ignore any warnings and keep pressing next and then Finish at last. If all goes well, the last screen will show the message that device driver is properly installed.

If the last screen shows that device is nto configured properly or The device could not start then repeat the above steps choosing a different driver version this time.

I sincerly hope that this will solve the problem that all of you are facing. It has worked for me, atleast.

Hey, many thanks for you turtorial !

Unfortunately, it didnīt work for me, my pc canīt detect the services of my HTC TOUCH DIAMIND and also other way round. Hope that windows will fix this bug because it is neither the fault of my bluetooth dongle nor the one of my device...
