on my diamond the GPS performance was very poor. The time to first fix was about 8-10 minuites but that was not the worst thing, I also had always GPS positioning LAGs. It was very bad.

I tried everything, different ROMs, Radios, Tweaks, Workarounds, Navigation Softwares.........

Nothing helped me. I was very frustrated.

After all this I found the solution that solved all my GPS problems.

I tested the HTC tool:Nadavi_HTC_GPS_TOOL.cab

With this tool you can do 4 types of reset on your integrated GPS modul.

I tried all.

It seems to me that the one that fixes the problem is: Clear memory

1: You have to go to a location with a good GPS signal. Than start Clear
Memory in the Settings TAB.

2:After that look at the Information TAB: At GNSS DOP and Active
Sattellites, if get an update at Mode 2 you are done.

After this procedure all my problems are solved.

I have now a time to first fix about 30sec.

No GPS LAGs, the positioning is now very exact.

So if anybody have the same problems , try the HTC GPS Tool.
Hi, I will make a try, how to make a warm, cold and hot start ?
Cheers

Open the HTC GPS Tool. Choose your Option e.g. HotStart <<<< klick Open

Thats it.

I use Version 1.1.1.0 of the GPS Tool.

It worked for my diamond with A.Z.T.O.R. SprintFlavor ROM and radio 1.00.25.08
This is the first time that I can actually use TomTom.
Thanks for this handy tool.

I worked for me also for official 1.93 ROM Russian
Tested on iGo8 and 2 local GPS Nav programs
All of them are very responsive and accurate, really amazing
Instead of 20 minutes I get a fix in 30 seconds

However, it seems that QuickGPS ruins everything when it downloads sat info.
I turned it off, and will check later today/tomorrow

So far I am very optimistic

I will guess that "clean memory" also cleans the data QuickGPS downloads.
I cleaned memory yesterday in the evening before driving home.
GPS was fast and accurate after that.
I also tested it in late evening and today in the morning before I came to work. It was quick.
Then at work I connected to my laptop via Activesync (and I have an option "load satellite info automatically if connected via ActiveSync" in QuickGPS) and when I tested GPS in the open air at lunchtime it seemed to be slow again ( I waited ~ 5 minutes).

My conclusion so far - QuickGPS downloads garbade or unappropriate data

So unticked this option in QuickGPS and will test again to be sure that this is exactly Quick GPS who does this dirty trick

yep, I've the suspect too that quickgps data aren't correct or a bit outdated.

I discovered also in the official telus diamond forum that IP addresses registered are different from the ones (traditional) recorder into quickgps app (there is a registry key for this)

Bye,
Davide

Do you know which registry key exactly ?
It will be funny to check if they are all the same for different countries or vary from country to country.
