Default Is there a carkit/holder for the MDA Compact IV?

I've looked everywhere, but can't find a decent carkit/active-holder for my MDA Compact IV.

I've tried the 'Brodit Active Holder for the Touch Diamond', but it doesn't fit due to the rounded corners.

Is there an active-holder for the MDA Compact IV?

Hope so...

That's interesting and helpful. www.brodit.com certainly reckon they have an active kit for T-Mobile Compact IV, but after your post I checked to see if this was a different part No from HTC Diamond, and sadly it was not.

I was just about to order one too. Does it just not fit well, or not at all?

EDIT

Hang on a minute, what exactly are you saying.

On inspection of the part number 968843 or 971843 I can't for the life of me understand how the rounded corners would make any difference.

From their website

Item no. 968843 fits:
HTC P3700 For all countries
HTC Touch Diamond For all countries
O2 XDA Diamond For all countries
O2 XDA Ignito For all countries
T-Mobile MDA Compact IV For Europe

Some more feedback from you would be really helpful

Not at all! The salesman (at the pdashop.nl in The Netherlands) tried to place my MDA Compact IV into the Brodit active holder, but it wouldn't fit at all...

I hope there are other active holders for the MDA Compact IV...

Maybe CARCOMM or ADAPT active holders

I'm not looking for an argument here, and I fully understand that you went to pdashop.nl and the salesman could not get the Compact IV to fit, but is there the slightest chance that the salesman did not have the diamond/compact IV active holder (in other words the htc diamond would not have fitted either.).

I understand that the compact iv has rounded edges, but I believe the USB terminal is in the same place. I also believe that they are the same thickness and width. The design of the Brodit (of course I'm just looking at a web picture) does not indicate that rounded corners could cause the problem.

I have not compared diamond to compact iv side by side, but in your opinion where was the problem. I can only think it must be the side holders.

On the box, I saw that the brodit holder was for the Touch Diamond, there was also a dummy of the Touch Diamond in that store, and I held my MDA Compact IV next to it. The back is so much different. Everything on the Compact IV is rounded and maybe just a little thicker...

I have spoken to the following company in the UK

http://www.dsldevelopments.com

They assure me that the HTC Diamond brodit kit is fine for the TMobile Compact IV. They actually fit a comparable phones into the cradle prior to offering the unit on their website.

I mentioned your issue and they said that normally when this kind of thing happens, one would find that the unit itself was faulty. Apparently the cradle itself is hand finished [his words not mine] and sometimes a rogue unit can be manufactured. So his belief is that the diamond would also not fit into that actual unit.

From the specs on the previous post I would be almost certain that a tolerance of 1mm would not be the issue.

Anyway, the company above do export, and the cost of a telephone conversation should not be too expensive. Call and speak with a guy called Dave or Alan (sorry I can't remember).

However I suggest you go back to pdashop.nl and try another unit.

Hope this matter will be resolved. I can't quite make up my mind which fixture to choose yet, so I am not in a position to order.

However if mine does not fit, I have been promised full refund.

THANKS a lot!
I will go back to the pdashop.nl to try other active Brodit holders and let you all know the results!

I ordered the Brodit proclip from Morpethmobiles for £14.95 delivered and the Brodit passive holder from www.qfonic.com for £16.95, both prices included delivery

The holder is for the Diamond as I couldn't find a dedicated mdac4 one, but reading around the consesus is that it they are the same

I'm just waiting delivery. Morpethmobiles has taken a while, but then again they have probably been under water for a week!
