u need original rom, connected phone to computer via active sync and... that's it - u can "upgrade" your system to original rom

so you mean the only file I´m gonna need is the update to 6.1 which can be downloaded from HTCs website? (eg. is the "original ROM" youre talking about the same as this file?)

yap, that is it
or from your mobile operator webside, if they made custom rom (like O2 in UK)

and u don't need HardSPL or things like that, because this is required by cooked roms only

If you once used a cooked ROM, you probably installed Hard SPL to install that ROM. When sending it back for warranty, you have to install an official ROM and install the normal SPL. See the FAQ for New Guys topic.

OK ... I went to the HTC site, input my S/N and downloaded the suggested file (_HTC Touch Cruise_RUU_Polaris_HTC_WWE_3.13.405.0_radio_sign_2 5.85.30.07_1.59.42.15_Ship.exe).

When I go to flash it, it starts the update process (showing the progress bar on my TC) and then gives me the above error and aborts the update process .

Does anyone have any clue ? Just as a point of information ... the unit originally had an English ROM (UK ?) and I sent it in to get a German ROM flashed. They did that and assigned a new IMEI in the process.

How to proceed ?

OK ... problem solved. I used the direct link to download the GER version (obviously the HTC support site still lists the WWE as the current version ).

i downloaded the wwe rom from the first page of this thread when i try to install it get to 1% and it stops stating not suitable or somethnig like that, when i try to install a cooked rom it fails to install at all stating connection lost!!

I'm running windows vista which means i'm not using activesync but Windows Mobile Device Center (could this be the fault)
My Device is an XDA Orbit 2 Windows Mobile 6 pro CE OS 5.2.1623 Build 18129.0.4.5.

I would like to update the rom to mobile 6.1, I had the XDA Orbit and had no problems updating the rom but this thing is bugging me somethig mad

Please Help
