Or, if you're running Vista, run this command in cmd.exe:

Code:
mkdir "C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Android\SDK-1.0"

Default emu emu

I have a g5 ppc mac, so I fired up my trusty x86 emu and DLed the SDK, fired up the android emu and now 30 mintues later its still booting! woot! I guess this will not be my development environment.

LOL.

I waited till it finished to post, its works and its not that slow, its slow but faster than I thought it was gonna be...

warwolf, you may want to change your post a bit, the directory is not correct:

it should be:
mkdir "C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Android\SDK-1.0"

I don't think the windows version should be your development environment. Eclipse runs under MacOS and the Android plugin for it should work fine. As for the simulator, however...

Default android emu

Yes, I could do eclipse (edit, compile, DEXify) in OS X, set that up already. But there is no emu for PowerPC. It only seems to compile for intel. Then again I could test on the real deal Oct 22nd!

After it got all cached in the emu was "usable", playing with it will probably make the real thing seem like a rocket!

Windows Vista is ****ing garbage, I can't get anything to run on this piece of ****. Last night I was trying to get my java compiler (javac) up and going on this, always used XP with it... I run javac through cmd and it just gives me another prompt, doesn't give an error message, doesn't say ****. Same ****ing thing here, no matter what the directory this ****ing emulator won't run.

Finally got the emulator. Now for javac... >

I hear ya. The emulator crawled under wine on Linux. But once it loaded a few days later, it was alright.
