android port from G1 to other phones, possible?

now that the first android phone is actually released, is there any way to port the entire android os to other HTC phones??? i know that there is already a project going on to get android working on the polaris, but a lot of things don't work.. now that the os is officially released, wouldn't it make things easier..

if he actually gets this working 100%, this would be awesome.

who knows, maybe HTC will come out
with an android upgrade for some
other phones, no seriously now, if this will work on
polaris then i'll be very very very happy.
