Default Add Task to Manila Screen??

Dear All,

I have a request,

Can we add the Task tab to the Manila Screen? Just like adding the Call history?

It would be great if this could happen!

Thanks

Itīs an very often discussed point here. Try to search for it.

So much is told: Use SecondToday an TodayAgenda. That works.

The try searching answer is pointless and seems to be the immediate answer of sooooo many on this forum. It's bad enough that people don't read the forum rules regarding searching first but then it seems like the rules have some added portion that I haven't read that say - answer every single post with "try searching".

The answer of using Second Today is an adequate one but not a good one. The question, had it been read carefully, asks is there a way to add something to Manilla?

That is a good question and hopefully will have an answer at some point. This lack of trully being able to customize probably turns many away from Manilla

The "Try Searching" answer is not always the best way to cover such questions but we should encourage new friends to look at the work thats already been done - that way we all learn..... so sometimes - try searching for "a clue" would be a good answer if you know where the answer is but want to encourage the use of the "search"

I have to dissagree on this point too! Manilla is Highly customisable - in looks any way! See the following thread for just some examples of what you can customise if you put some effort in:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=421317

As for the Task Tab..... This will most definately be possible - the following is already available (IF you Search, lol) and I think this may be what wizain was looking for, but if its not quite what you need or meant then with more code you should be able to make changes or "Search" some more......!

The TouchPro Action Screen In it's own tab...

If I only could figure out how to rotate it and change the tab icon...!

Just add this to 26948339_manila

Code:
      <Page Order="11" Name="LandscapeMenu.page" PackageName="HTC" Title="Action" >
        <ComponentReference Name="page" Mode9Path="HTC\LandscapeMenu.mode9" Component="LandscapePageComponent" SmartComponent="true" />
        <ComponentReference Name="icon_normal"   Mode9Path="HTC\icons.mode9" Component="Programs_Off" />
        <ComponentReference Name="icon_selected" Mode9Path="HTC\icons.mode9" Component="Programs_On" />
        <ComponentReference Name="icon_preview"  Mode9Path="HTC\icons.mode9" Component="Programs_Preview" />
      </Page>
PS The language will change to whatever your ROM language is for this particular Tab - no extra coding required......

Thanks Blob8me!

I've been looking for this for some time.
The problem with the xda-dev forums is that there is so much info that I often have a problem to find the right post in a thread of 64 pages etc.

But I still find it strange of HTC not to include such a basic piece of PIM.

Default Adding tabs to Manila, or customizing existing tabs' contents?

Hi,

I tried several Manila ROMS (NATF v3 and v4, Hyperdragon III) but couldn't get used to not being able to customize the screens as I like (say like using SPB Shell and customizing the contents of any given tab).

Further, I have several apps that use a Today plugin (eg Newsbreak, PocketWeather), and I'd like to find a way to incorporate these into the Home page, or to create a Today Plugins tab, or just create a separate tab for each.

The weather tab, for example, is not practical for me, as I live in one city, work in another city, and constantly follow the weather in cities where I (or my wife) are about to travel. So having a single city weather page is of no use to me, and this is why I need to have the PocketWeather tab available.

Another thing would be able to have a separate tab for each application group (eg Navigation, Multimedia, Office...), just like creating folders that are shown in Start-Programs.

I've spent a couple of hours (actually longer) searching for a solution. Many posts direct to the Manila customizer thread, but even there I could not find anything (not to say that even the author warns that the tool is "dangerous").

I'd appreciate any ideas.

Thank you.

Yeah, but your application has stopped development, as you wrote.

This along with the separated SMS and Email tabs (I just want icons on my home panel with notification! I don't need swipe/click/swipe sliding fancy animations on separate tabs just to see my last couple of messages) are the 2 main reasons I can't use TF3D/Sense full time.

Anyone want to help pick this up with me?
