By The way this is for anyone trying to build there own kernel. These are the patches we have so far needed to get the screen and keyboard working with the lin wizard kernel, here just for future development.

A working kernel with these files built in is already included on the first post.

What can we do with it once we get it installed? Can we run linux apps, or must they be written specifically for the phone?

Got the console to appear fine most of the time and was able to get X11 up and running with xinit on a t-mobile dash. It seems there is no input mapped, so I couldn't really do anything. The usb networking works well and I could establish a telnet session to my device. I was unable to kill X via telnet so I had to remove my battery to stop it from running. Glad that Linux is finally booting on the dash!

Sorry for double posting but I cant really double quote using opera mini....

You can run any linux app that will build or a prebuilt bin. and it would have to fit in ram and the ramdisk.

Which reminds me can someone try and mount the sd to see if thats working or not.

Just run "xinit" rather than using the "startx" script, that didn't work for me either. Just running "X" itself also works but obviously has no window manager if you do that.

Also, mounting an mmc card appears to work fine and I was able to get an accurate directory listing in addition to reading data from some files on the card.
