didn't fix **** for me. in fact made things worse. I had it set to
IntialDelay 3e8(1000)
RepeatRate 1e (30)
After running the cab it became less responsive.
and it worked a lot better but still lags and misses characters (mostly S Y T ENTER and a few others).
I think it has to be something else that is slowing the keyboard down.

Default One approach does not fix all

Maybe the reason why this works for some but not for others is that the fix only adjusts priorities of where the CPU resources go - it does NOT create more resources. This means if you already have other things gobbling up CPU cycles, the keyboard has to fight for those resources and as a non-essential function, it's not, nor should it be IMO top of the tree in terms of priorities if stability and reliabiulity of the system as a whole must be considered.

If HTC had done a proper job with their hardware, they would have ensured reliable drivers are installed to interact and fully utilise all aspects of their hardware. They should have ensured that all the 'hardware' features should function fully in all reasonable circumstances and ensure there is sufficient dedicated CPU 'horsepower' built in for this function.

Default Tip that worked for me

I dowloaded the cab and installed, I was just being lazy about editing the registry. Yes, I know it was only two entries! Did a soft reset and checked the speed to find no noticeable improvement. I then checked the registry to make sure the changes were made and they matched the the ones noted in post #1 so I assumed the cab worked. Not wanting to give up quite yet I changed my my registry settings to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd

"InitialDelay"=dword: dec 875

"RepeatRate"=dword: dec 30

After another soft reset it appears to have done the trick! The screen seems to keep up with my typing now and there is definitely a noticeable improvement now. Just FYI, I realize that depending on the apps running and resources being used that there can be other reasons why the typing may run slow. Therefore, I tested each registry change by closing all apps running and freeing up resources so that I was comparing apples to apples.

If the cab doesn't yield the results you are looking for then give this a try, it worked for me.
Regards,

James
